Every Monday, Living Lutheran offers a week’s worth of prayers from the ELCA resource Prayer Ventures, which can be downloaded here. These petitions – one for each day this week – are offered as a guide for your own prayer life as together we pray for the needs of the world and give thanks for the ministries of our church.

Monday, March 28: This day and every day, we offer prayers of wonder and praise for the presence of God in our lives, especially when we least expect it or doubt God’s power and creativity to effect change in our lives and world.

Tuesday, March 29: We remember in our prayers and ask God to bless and further the leadership development work of the Rev. Chad and Natalie Rimmer, ELCA missionaries in Senegal.

Wednesday, March 30: We give thanks for the poets of the church who speak from their heart, spirit and life experiences and inspire our faith and imagination through creative means.

Thursday, March 31: We remember on this day when some states celebrate Cesar Chavez Day, the leaders, advocates and activists who are moved to work for the wellbeing and just treatment of all people, especially those who labor under difficult conditions and whose voices are often neglected.

Friday, April 1: We thank God for people whose humor and unique observations of life give us the gifts of laughter, joy and thoughtful pause, even if for only a moment.

Saturday, April 2: We remember in our prayers the diverse gifts, life stories and challenges of our Arab-American brothers and sisters, especially during Arab-American Heritage Month, and ask God’s blessings on the members and leaders of our Arab and Middle Eastern Lutheran congregations in the ELCA.

Sunday, April 3:
In all we do, with all our being and in all our prayers, we praise God’s greatness and mighty deeds in our world and throughout the universe.
