Marc Nesseler is vice president of St. John Lutheran Church in Rock Island, Ill. He served as a journalist for a Quad Cities newspaper for 47 years and since 2018 has been a math teacher and newsletter elective instructor at Quad Cities Christian School in Moline, Ill.
