Where is your patriotism?

I received the Living Lutheran on May 6. The summer days are soon here. The issue said nothing about Memorial Day, Independence or Veterans Day. Is it against the policy of the Lutherans to mention these days? If it is the policy of the Lutheran Church not to mention these holidays please cancel my subscription. “I just quit” the church!

Thank you for your concern about summer holidays. Since we are church publication, not a secular one, our emphasis is on articles that will help members grow in their faith. The wealth of articles on vocation in this issue emphasize how we live out our faith in our jobs and in a secular world. Perhaps those would be of interest to you. It’s entirely possible July and November will have articles you’re hoping for, but those holidays and magazine issues have not yet been published.
