Settlage, 73, dies

A. Craig Settlage, former director for ELCA mission support, died Oct. 21 at the age of 73. In 1988, Settlage became director for candidacy and later was associate executive director of the former ELCA Division for Ministry and director for rostered and authorized ministries. In 2007 he became mission support director and retired in 2012. “Craig traveled across this church encouraging synods and congregations to be generous. Not always an easy task,” said ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton. “Craig did this in the conviction that all of life, including our financial resources, is a gift from God.” (See page 46.)
