In what ways can we deepen our connection with God and each other? Today we’re sharing a few prompts to encourage you during your personal spiritual time. We hope this collection inspires and strengthens meaningful connections with yourself, your community and God as you move through your week.
“Prayer ventures”
Ask God to help us go beyond the walls of our sanctuaries as we serve our neighbors in need and invite others to follow Jesus Christ. Ask the Spirit to stir our trust in God’s ability to use our unique gifts, skills and passions for ministry, especially when we doubt ourselves (“Prayer ventures,” Oct. 11).
Journal prompt
Set a timer for five minutes and open the notes app on your phone or grab a pen and paper. Write a short list of things you enjoy doing in your free time. Then carve out space in your schedule this week to prioritize doing something just for fun. You can do this with a friend, your small group or as a solo date.
Affirmation
My participation in the community around me, whether local, national or global, makes an impact.
Finding connections
- Visit an ELCA congregation in your area if you’re not already connected with a place of worship.
- Bookmark your synod’s website or social media page to stay up to date on events in your area.
- If you’re a young adult ages 18 to35, consider joining a Gather group, where you can meet new people and explore your faith in community.
Creating connections
Take a moment to think of one person you could connect with this week. If no one comes to mind, that’s OK. You’re invited to connect with us! Follow @LivingLutheran on Instagram and leave us a comment. We’d love to hear from you.
