Today we are sharing prompts to inspire you during your personal spiritual time so you can set your intentions for the weekend ahead. Take a moment to reflect on the following and journal your thoughts.
Prayer from Bread for The Day
Steadfast God, you care for your people and for all of creation. May we trust in your promise passed down through generations, that death is not the end, and that your love is abundant and everlasting.
Hymn
“Kneeling in the Dust to Form Us” (All Creation Sings 1099)
Scripture
Psalm 121 | The Lord watches over you
“The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore” (Psalm 121:5-8).
Journal prompt
In your journal, write:
- Five things you’re grateful for.
- Five things you’re hoping for.
Take a few moments today to pause and reflect. Where do you sense God watching over your “going out and coming in” today? How does that awareness shape the intentions you want to set for the weekend?
Prayer venture
“Prayer must not be based on or depend on your personal worthiness or the quality of the prayer itself; rather, it must be based on the unchanging truth of God’s promise” (Martin Luther, Faith Alone). Pray for whatever is on your mind today; be in conversation with God and trust that your words—imperfect, spoken and silent—are heard and attended to.
