Anne Edison-Albright, Appleton, Wis., was reelected June 5 to serve a second six-year term as bishop of the East Central Synod of Wisconsin of the ELCA. The election took place during the synod assembly, June 4-6 at the Oshkosh Marriot Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center in Oshkosh, Wis.
The bishop was reelected on the second ballot, with 191 votes. Rachel Knoke, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Green Bay, Wis., received 32 votes. A total of 186 votes was needed for election.
Edison-Albright was elected bishop of the synod in 2020. From 2016 to 2020, she served as director of College Ministries and as college pastor at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, one of 27 ELCA colleges and universities. Edison-Albright served as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, Wis., from 2010 to 2016. She has also served as a hospital chaplain and pastoral intern at the international congregation in Bratislava, Slovakia, and as a summer missionary and English teacher in Chuzhou, China. Prior to rostered ministry, Edison-Albright taught high school English and English as a second language.
