Prayer for Aug. 8

Every day, Living Lutheran offers a prayer for the day from the ELCA resource “Prayer ventures.” These daily petitions are offered as a guide for your own prayer life as together we pray for the needs of the world and give thanks for the ministries of our church.

You can download a pdf with the monthly “Prayer ventures” here.

Saturday, Aug. 8 “Earth is full of wit and wisdom, woven into harmony. Every creature has a purpose, every flower and bumble bee. Spider, human, redwood, gecko, monkey, chicken, mouse and snake live within a single fabric: cloth that only God could make” (ACS 1064). We lift up praise and thanksgiving to God for the wonders, wisdom and beauty of creation! We pray for God to open our eyes to the inextricable and intentional connection we have to creation and the environment.
