Members of the ELCA Conference of Bishops have issued a statement on reports that the U.S. government is planning to discontinue financial assistance to Augusta Victoria Hospital and five other East Jerusalem hospitals. The Conference of Bishops affirmed Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton’s Sept. 6 letter to Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on the topic.
