Today we are sharing five prompts to inspire you during your personal spiritual time so you can set your intentions for the week ahead. Take a moment to reflect on the following and journal your thoughts.
-
- Scripture: “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!” (Psalm 130:1-2).
- “Prayer Ventures”: “‘Lord, I will lift mine eyes to the hills, knowing my help is coming from you. Your peace you give me in time of the storm. You are the source of my strength. You are the strength of my life’ (All Creation Sings 1080). Lift up prayers of thanksgiving and praise to God for being an ever-present and dependable source of strength, courage and hope, particularly in times of struggle and crisis” (July 30, 2026).
- Community care opportunity: “Could it be that we are called for such a time as this?” (All Creation Sings 1003). What injustice do you feel called to help address? Look for a nonprofit in your community that is working on that issue and find a way to support its mission. You might make a financial gift, volunteer your time or use your social media presence to amplify its work. How can your Facebook posts, Instagram stories or online conversations help connect others to opportunities for healing and hope? What might God be calling you to do in this moment?
- Journal prompt: In times of anxiety, fear or pain, what helps you feel closer to God? List the practices, people or reminders that bring you peace. Then choose a Scripture that speaks to God’s steadfast presence and place it somewhere you will see it each day. After a week, reflect on how that daily reminder affected your thoughts, emotions and sense of peace.
- Affirmation: In times of pain or heartache, God’s love is constant and powerful.
