Prayer for July 5

Every day, Living Lutheran offers a prayer for the day from the ELCA resource “Prayer ventures.” These daily petitions are offered as a guide for your own prayer life as together we pray for the needs of the world and give thanks for the ministries of our church.

You can download a pdf with the monthly “Prayer ventures” here.

Sunday, July 5 “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest,” Jesus said. “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29). We pray for the gentle, humble and caring spirit of Jesus to be our example and inspiration for how we attend to the needs of our neighbors and siblings in Christ.
