The ELCA World Hunger “Walk for Water” fundraising challenge of $500,000 has been met. “This is critical progress toward ELCA World Hunger’s commitment to helping communities around the world break the cycle of hunger and poverty,” said Daniel Rift, director for ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal. “In 2015 we’re working toward nearly $21 million of projects and services (of which more than $5 million includes water- and sanitation-related efforts) helping communities here at home and abroad.”
