Study guide for “The power of connection”

We are not meant to be Christians alone, whether individuals or congregations, synods or denominations. Interdependence is hardwired into the Christian witness. For example, in teaching disciples the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), Jesus instructs them to address “Our Father,” not “My Father.” The fact is, Christians are meant to be in community. We are stronger and more effective when we work with one another. The ELCA models and celebrates our interconnectedness. How do you experience such connections?

Robert C. Blezard

Robert C. Blezard is a retired ELCA pastor and editor of Living Lutheran's study guides. Previously he served as an assistant to the bishop of the Lower Susquehanna Synod and pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, Md. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Boston University School of Theology and has done further study at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (Pa.), now called United Lutheran Seminary.
